It’s My Birthday!
YUP, it’s come around yet again. That fateful day when I can carve another notch into the old cat cane. It’s down to the size of a matchstick now.
So what did we do to celebrate this auspicious occasion?
Well, as today’s Monday, we made yesterday (that’s Sunday, keep up) the day of celebration. So, a nice quiet family day was in order. Opened my prezzies from the girls – Maltesers, Cadburys Caramel, Chocolate Brazils, Honeycomb (seems to be theme here). Then all the home made cards from each of the children (and Jasper the cat).
Then we settled down in the lounge to watch a film/movie together. As it was “daddy’s day”, so the children chose ‘what daddy would like’. We watched a new cartoon called Alpha & Omega. It’s about some packs of wolves in Canada. One of the great things about having a young family, is you have the excuse to see some brilliant films. Forget the tough stuff, I love Shrek, Wall-E, Lion King, Tarzan, etc., and all the old Disney’s.
After that, it’s off to a nice pub restaurant for a meal together. One of the other customers even came over to say how well behaved the children were, but we couldn’t persuade her to take them home. After much ice cream consumption, it was back home to the Forest, and bed.
I guess, having written this, there Is a message.
Sometimes we need to check our priorities. While we all sit at our computers, searching, learning, writing, we need to identify just WHY we are doing it. One day, taken out of the graft, has just reminded me.
Here’s MY reason: My 3 daughters.
I had to remove the photos because my wife, quite rightly pointed out that too much information, and photos could endanger them.
In my enthusiasm, pride in them and love for them, I hadn’t considered the possible repercussions. It’s a sad sign of the times we live in, even here, and it simply never ocurred to me. Take my word for it, they’re pretty cute.
Get their looks from dad.
OK since you asked – 62. OK? Happy now? Biatch!

That’s why it’s called the present.”
